Why our communities need Reading Intervention.

There are too many people, adults and children, who cannot read well enough to be full participants in their jobs, schools, and society. There are too many discouraged educators who need support and encouragement while teaching in an ever-changing, complicated world. The charts on this page show the 2024 research and statistics.

There is a problem.

We want to participate in the solution!!

We meet three immediate needs:

1.      providing accessible and affordable Science of Reading, structured literacy reading intervention to help struggling readers reach their full potential.

2.     linking highly trained literacy teachers and collegiate interns with student-neighbors who in most cases could not have previously afforded or accessed high quality, professional tutoring.

3. facilitating support networks through which teachers, collegiate interns and independent literacy teachers are encouraged and inspired to love their neighbors in their educational communities as they do the valuable work of teaching reading.

Our Vision

We envision all struggling readers, no matter where they live or who they are, receiving Structured Literacy teaching based on the Science of Reading that supports the student’s individual needs as a loved “neighbor”.

We envision well paid, professional, highly trained and motivated reading teachers and interns providing quality literacy lessons in libraries, schools, adult recovery programs and correctional facilities, etc.

We envision tutors and students mutually growing and learning through their shared goals and mentor-like relationship.

We envision educators inspired and encouraged through professional and peer support in loving community.
